Brent PHILIPSEN
Biography
Brent Philipsen received his PhD in Educational Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where his doctoral research explored the components of successful training programmes, teachers’ lived experiences, and the validation of an instrument to measure perceptions of institutional support. His work contributes to improving the quality of online and blended learning in adult and higher education.
He has previously worked as a scientific researcher at imec-SMIT, engaging in research on digital learning and educational innovation. More recently, he served as a project leader at the Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences, where he coordinated macro-efficiency analyses and initial accreditation studies for two new associate degree programmes.
Brent’s research interests include online learning, instructional design, teacher professional development, and institutional support in education.
