Following the successful launch of the Digital Academic Leadership (DAL) Webinar Series, the upcoming session will further explore how higher education institutions are navigating rapid digital transformation and shaping the future of academic leadership in an AI-driven era.
Organised by the EU–China Higher Education Research Center (ECHE) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), in collaboration with the LEAD Academic Network and the World Education Research Association (WERA), this webinar forms part of the broader DAL Training Programme aimed at strengthening international dialogue and capacity building in digital academic leadership.

Prof. Dr. Raheel Nawaz is a globally recognised academic leader and a highly cited scholar in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Digital Education. Currently serving as Pro Vice Chancellor (Education and Research) at the University of Staffordshire, he leads the university’s Next Generation strategy, advancing innovation in learning, research, and student experience.
An international expert, TEDx speaker, and National Teaching Fellow, Prof. Nawaz has contributed extensively to shaping digital education policy and practice across multiple continents.
This session will provide participants with valuable insights into emerging leadership competencies, institutional readiness, and innovation strategies required to respond effectively to digital transformation in higher education.
