In celebration of 50 years of EU–China diplomatic ties, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences – Sino-Danish College, the EU–China Higher Education Research Center (ECHE) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, LEAD Academic Network, and the World Education Research Association (WERA) IRN are co-hosting a high-level academic symposium in Beijing.
This symposium is part of the EU–China 50th Anniversary Series of Academic Activities, coordinated by the ECHE.
Themed "AI-Empowered Higher Education and Scientific Research Collaboration", this two-day event will bring together university leaders, researchers, and policy experts from China, Europe, and beyond to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming doctoral education, academic leadership, and research governance.
Highlights of the 2-Day Event:
August 20: Arrival and welcome reception
August 21:
- Morning: Opening session and keynote presentations on AI in education leadership, digital transformation, and collaborative governance
- Afternoon: Roundtable discussions on global challenges and opportunities for AI in higher education
- Evening: Social program and networking dinner

Morning: Team-building and networking session for LEAD Academic Network members
