Maarten Gernay

Maarten Gernay is a university lecturer and practice assistant in Linguistics and Literary Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He also works in international relations and mobility, supporting academic exchange and institutional cooperation. With a background in Chinese Studies—having completed a Master’s degree with distinction at KU Leuven—his teaching and research focus on Chinese language learning, cross-cultural communication, and language education.

In addition to his academic activities, he contributes to educational support and management within his department, combining linguistic expertise with practical engagement in international academic environments.
