Mingyang Ma, Ph.D., is a researcher in Educational Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). While pursuing a Master’s Degree in TESOL, she focused on English language acquisition and pedagogy, research skills and educational theories and facts. In addition, she conducted research on English teachers’ beliefs and practices and examined ways to better assist English teachers during the transition period in the workplace. Next, she worked as an experienced English teacher in several institutions. Her passion for teaching and acquired teaching skills related to both traditional classroom and online teaching contexts enable her to conduct and research blended learning courses. Also, she has been trained to utilise various digital tools to design meaningful classroom activities and she is constantly seeking innovative ways to make teaching and learning more stimulating. Then, she gained her PhD at VUB in the field of higher education. She focuses on blended teaching and learning, digital technologies, innovative pedagogy and academic leadership. She actively participated in workshops and activities and carried out research on influential variables for successful blended teaching and learning.
