The fourth and final session of the PhDGov online training series was held on 24 June 2025. The live online session focused on artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education and research, as well as research funding processes.
The session started with a presentation on AI guidelines and ethical considerations in higher education, addressing institutional approaches to the responsible use of AI in research and doctoral education. This was followed by a presentation on research funding processes, outlining key procedures and practical considerations related to project funding and research management.
In addition, the session included contributions focusing on research governance and institutional responsibilities, highlighting how policy frameworks, ethics, and funding mechanisms intersect in doctoral education and research practice.
The final online training session concluded with a Q&A discussion and closing remarks, marking the completion of the PhDGov online training series. The session provided a concluding perspective on key themes addressed throughout the series and linked them to the subsequent upcoming in-person training and study visit activities.
