On 23 January 2026, the PhDGov study visit continued in Belgium with a focus on doctoral training models, research ethics, and institutional exchange.
The morning programme started with a session on the FLAMES programme, providing an overview of doctoral training among Flemish universities in research methods and statistics, followed by experience sharing and discussions. This was followed by a session on research ethics and academic integrity, addressing institutional policies related to ethical conduct, plagiarism prevention, and ethics committees.
After the morning sessions, participants continued an institutional visit in Ghent. The group visited the e-Lab of HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where participants were introduced to the learning and research environment and exchanged views on entrepreneurial learning, digital education and applied research practices.
The study visit concluded with a take-away and feedback session, marking the successful completion of the PhDGov study visit in Belgium. At the closing of the visit, participants received certificates of completion, acknowledging their active participation in the in-person training and study visit activities.
